James MacEwen

James MacEwen was appointed Curator of the National Oak Collection at Chevithorne Barton in April 2016. James as a friend of Michael Heathcoat Amory’s has been involved with collection for over twenty years.He collaborated with the book on the collection,The Oaks of Chevithorne Barton, including taking the photographs for it.James MacEwen is a keen naturalist & has been a trustee of various wildlife conservation charities over many years.

John Anderson

Keeper of the Gardens at Windsor Great Park, and previously Head gardener at Exbury Gardens, John brings a wealth of horticultural knowledge and experience to the team helping to steer our vision and progress the gardens forward.

Allen Coombes  

Allen Coombes is Curator of Scientific Collections at the Botanical Garden and Herbarium of the University of Puebla, Mexico. Previously botanist at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in Hampshire and author of several books on trees he been involved with the collection at Chevithorne for many years. He has collected extensively in many of the oak-rich areas of the world such as the USA, Mexico, China and Taiwan and many of his collections are represented here and in other gardens.
